By accessing and using Hearth ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our Service.
2. Description of Service
Hearth provides a software service that enables UK landlords to submit quarterly income and expense updates to HMRC as part of the Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements. The Service allows you to upload spreadsheet data and submit it to HMRC on your behalf.
3. User Responsibilities
- You are responsible for the accuracy of all data you submit
- You must maintain the security of your account credentials
- You must comply with all applicable tax laws and regulations
- You must have the authority to connect your HMRC account
4. Subscription and Payments
The Service is provided on a subscription basis at £39.99 per year. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled. Refunds may be provided at our discretion for unused subscription periods.
5. Data Protection
We take your privacy seriously. Your data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and UK data protection laws. We do not retain your spreadsheet files after processing.
6. Important: Not Professional Tax Advice
Hearth is a software tool for data submission, not a tax advisory service.
- Any tax estimates, calculations, or projections shown are for informational purposes only
- These estimates do not constitute professional tax, legal, or financial advice
- Your actual tax liability may differ significantly based on your complete financial situation
- We strongly recommend consulting a qualified accountant or tax advisor for advice specific to your circumstances
- You remain solely responsible for the accuracy of your tax submissions to HMRC
7. Limitation of Liability
While we strive to provide accurate and reliable service, we cannot guarantee that the Service will be error-free. You remain responsible for your tax affairs. We are not liable for any penalties, fines, or issues arising from incorrect data submission, reliance on tax estimates, or any other use of the Service.
Our maximum liability to you shall not exceed the subscription fees you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding any claim.
8. Modifications to Service
We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the Service at any time. We will provide reasonable notice of any significant changes.
